Blah is a communication challenge that aims to improve your or your child’s face to face communication skills. It is a fun event for students from Grade 4 through to Grade 12. There are 4 different age groups.
There are two ways to enter BLAH.
1. Your school can book a workshop at the school. All participants in the workshop can enter BLAH the competition.
2. You can register as an individual. Every child attends a three-hour face to face coaching session at JCU. Following this you can access online resources and zoom sessions. You will meet lots of other young people from different schools and learn the tricks and tips of public speaking.
Good speakers are winners in the 21st century.
Please click on the age group you are interested in and the time schedule for the coaching session, heats and Final. Also once you register you will have access to online resources including 1. Video on Speech Structure and how to write a speech and 2. Video on Speech delivery – How to deliver your speech strongly using pitch,pace,pause,volume and emphasis, eye contact and gesture.
Following the training and the writing of your speech, you can also email your speech for fine-tune editing by Blah Coaches, you then show up for a HEAT – 2 winners will be chosen from each heat to go through to the final.
